MORE THAN COFFEE IN COLOMBIA


For most caffeine addicts, the world “Colombia” represents the mild acidity and sweet flavour of that country’s hight-quality coffee. But Bogotá-based graphic designer, Illustrator and graffiti artist Cristian Vargas is determined to show the world than there is an equally distinguished cultural and artistic side to his birthplace.

As an all-round practitioner, Vargas has worked on a wide range of projects such as branding, editorial, packaging, fashion and product design under the name of his studio Typozon. As its name suggests, the emphasis is on typography in his design. He often mixes it with his illustration, which are based on a strong conceptual background and graphics. Although he frequently employs Vector drawing, he tries to balance his creative output between hand-made art work and that generated by computers.
